ENTRY FOR THE 2018 RACE

ENTRY IS CURRENTLY ONLY AVAILABLE TO 2017 FINISHERS, VOLUNTEERS AND DEFERRALS. GENERAL ENTRY WILL BE AVAILABLE IN DECEMBER AND FOR ONE SHORT WINDOW IN SEPTEMBER WHEN THE RUSH DIES DOWN - THAT WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON THE FACEBOOK PAGE WHEN READY. ALTHOUGH THIS RACE DOES SELL OUT, IN 2017 EVERYONE ON THE WAITING LIST WAS OFFERED A PLACE SO YOU HAVE A VERY GOOD CHANCE OF RUNNING THE EVENT.

Please note that you still need to have a qualifier - those of you who finished outside the 7 hour time limit will need to use another race as a qualifier. Full details in Race Rule 10. You will retain your 2017 number if you enter before December 10th.

YOUR ENTRY WILL BE REJECTED IF YOU HAVEN'T QUALIFIED AND WE WILL DEDUCT A £2 ADMIN FEE TO COVER NON-REFUNDABLE ENTRY SYSTEM COSTS !

For people who have not run the Stour Valley Marathon before, I strongly recommend that you have already completed at least one trail marathon. There are a number of suitable local events and the 100 Marathon Club site has a good list - LDWA events are ideal as they use a similar style of navigation and have generous time limits. I recommend both the Daffodil Dawdle and the Essex Walker (which also has a 19 mile option) as good test events leading up to the SVM. Cold Christmas to Good Easter, the Braintree Boggle and the Blackwater marathon would also be good experience but they do not take place every year.

EVERYONE : PLEASE READ THE RULES ON DEFERRALS AND TRANSFERS. THERE ARE NO DEFERRALS OR TRANSFERS AFTER MAY 15TH FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER. WE HAVE RECEIVED SOME UNPLEASANT EMAILS ABOUT THIS BEFORE - THIS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN FUTURE AND YOU WILL BE BANNED FROM ALL FUTURE EVENTS.

Confirmation of entry and your running number will be available via a link on the webscorer entry page once it is open - new entrants will have numbers allocated at the race director's convenience so numbers are subject to adjustment as necessary.
